The Key to Finding True Wisdom

by | Feb 5, 2018 | Family

Often times, the terms ‘wisdom’ and ‘knowledge’ get thrown around interchangeably, but the truth is that these two terms mean and stand for wildly different concepts. Knowledge is what you gain from learning and experiencing things throughout life. However, wisdom, on the other hand, is the ability to use your knowledge to discern what is good or right. Therefore, you cannot have wisdom without knowledge. But the key to finding true knowledge is more than just learning from your experiences and knowing the difference between right and wrong. In fact, there are three major components that contribute to finding true wisdom.

Chase after inspiration

Finding true wisdom requires a great deal of honesty with yourself. You have to know what inspires you to keep on trudging along your path of life. Find out what inspires you, what fills your mind and body with life, and what leaves you feeling significant to the world around you. Whatever that is for you, chase it with all you have. Go after your passions, your dreams, and the life you’ve always wanted for yourself and for your family with the utmost determination and enthusiasm. But this requires staying inspired and doing whatever it is that moves you. In doing so, you will learn things about yourself and the world you never knew before.

Find out your weaknesses

This kind of honesty with yourself extends beyond just knowing what inspires you. You also have to figure out your weaknesses. No matter how successful you are in life, you will always have weaknesses simply because of the fact that you are human. Even the most successful people in life have weaknesses––they just know how to overcome them. So figure out whatever it is that holds you back from chasing after your dreams. In doing so, you can learn how to best overcome it.

Choose the right path

Once you have identified both what motivates you and what sets you back, you have to use this knowledge and apply it your life. Make the right decisions that fuel your passions and help you overcome your weaknesses. And by navigating through life by learning what moves you and what holds you back, you will ultimately discover true wisdom. You will learn to make decisions that are rooted solely in the fact of pursuing your dreams.

Wisdom is not easy to come by, but if you follow these three tips, you will find it in the truest form.
